The sound is definitely poppier than the others, btu its great to hear them stretch their roots to a different musical genre. My PerSoNal FavoRiTE CD My all-time favorite HolE album would have to be Live Through This. The fact that it was made when Courtney was going through a lot, and also overcoming a lot makes the messages all the more powerful. The artwork and colors on the CD sleeve are beautiful, and I love how it corresponds with her songs. What other albums can go from soft, moving songs that could sprout tears, such as Doll Parts, onto Violet, a song screaming feminine rage and power? The transitions are amazing,and the guitar riffs are wonderfully delivered. It's one of those albums that never gets old. |
My FavE HoLe SOnG Asking For It- Pretty On the Inside
This song has always struck the right chord with me. It seems to show sadness and helplessness within Courtney, all while telling the victim what to do. The music is perfectly fitting, and fun to play and sing. I am amazed at how Courtney enenciates her words ( that "drawl" or "slur" is impossible to recreate!) and its all the more inspiration to sound like her. |
